My idle-hours webcomic started by accident, continued as an excuse to procrastinate on more serious work, and eventually became a 320-page graphic novel. It spent over six months on the New York Times Bestseller list, won the British Society for the History of Mathematics Neumann Prize, was an Eisner nominee for Best New Work and Best Writer/Artist, and was one of the Guardian’s Paperbacks of the Year. Occasional episodes still appear, albeit much more slowly now that it’s what I’m actually supposed to be working on. Its website is here.
