Chameleons
Some little chameleon studies for the film I’m working on at the moment.
Cute little dudes, chameleons, but the colour-changing thing doesn’t live up to the hype. It’s sloooooow and mainly goes from ‘brownish’ to ‘brownish-green’. According to National Geographic, they can change colour in about 20 seconds, which they seem to think is impressive. Pah! Now an octopus, that’s impressive…
See, you could never do that as an effect in a film because it would look totally fake. More octopi:
Cuttlefish are so good at this it looks like there’s something wrong with the render:
Birds aren’t famous for metamorphosing, but this guy is almost octopus-level. You can’t watch this and not go, “WHAT?!??”:
Heh. I like the little creeping guy, especially the one on the bottom left with the curly tail.
